Our Story
I’m Chef Nick, but call me Nick. I grew up in Panama City in a very Southern family, the kind where every event meant lots of food. It was here that I found my love of cooking. As soon as I was able to, I joined the service industry and I never looked back. Driven by a need to learn as much as I could, I set out with the goal of being the best chef that I could be. I spent several years studying traditional French and Italian cooking, but I still wanted more. I found out about a sushi restaurant in Rosemary Beach, on 30a, whose head chef was one of the most renowned Chefs in the sushi industry. With a little luck and a lot of hope I secured a position as his apprentice. It was here that I truly fell in love with Sushi and cooking.
Fast forward about 15 years and one little girl that changed everything comes storming into my life, and her name is Rowan! Now I’m a Chef but more importantly I’m a Dad! I spent years working from sunup to sundown, and well after, perfecting my craft. I knew that these hours weren’t going to work if I was going to be a part of my daughter’s life. So once again I ventured out with just a little luck and a lot of hope, but this time I had a tiny hand holding onto mine, and that is when we found Rowan’s Plate.
Sushi is just one of my food passions. Even if you’ve never tried it, or have been scared to in the past I am confident that I can find at least one dish you will fall in love with.
